External Hard Drive won't connect

    External Hard Drive won't connect


    I bought an external hard drive (1TB & USB 3.0) but it won't work. Whenever I plug it in an

    option will pop up saying that I can format for games or media and I'll choose games and I'll tell it to format so it seems like it works at first. After I name the hard drive nothing else happens. I've opened up the storage settings and it doesn't recognize
    that there's anything there. I've tried un checking the "turn off storage when xbox is off" box and I've rebooted the xbox but nothing works.

    Xbox disconnecting from live when external hardrive plugged in

    Xbox black screen but with static and boot sound first

    my Xbox works fine without the external hard drive but when I connect the hard drive it says no signal being received tries to start but won't used to work fine before the last update why is this?

    External Hard Drive won't connect

    Make sure the drive is formatted for Games, since that's the only way to be able to put games on there.

    If the drive keeps disappearing, disconnect the hard drive and hard reset the Xbox. Hard reset the Xbox by holding down the power button on the front of the Xbox for 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds let go of the power button then restart the Xbox.

    Then try the drive again on other USB ports and see if that makes a difference.

    Make sure the Xbox is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a power strip.

    Try another USB 3.0 cable

    You might see if the hard drive manuf. has any firmware updates for the drive or check with their support.

    Can't play apex legends because of this error...

    Could be the external hard drive causing the issue then it won't be the first time I seen errors appearing after updates on external hard drives. Try installing it on internal drive instead if you can?.

    If you have an external hard drive connected via USB disconnected and it performs a power cycle, check for the same error without connecting the external hard drive
