    Is this happening on Windows 11 or 10?
    What do you mean exactly by "External hard drive not showing up in Xbox Gamepass app"?
    The drive appears in the file explorer but not ready to be selected on the Xbox app?
    Or are you trying to play previously installed games / games installed on another PC?

    I also have this issue. My external hard drive has only showed up randomly a couple times. Ive had the xbox app on my PC for a year now and ive never been able to fix it. ive tried everything lol

    First, welcome to the Xbox community. Before we try any different solutions, I suggest that you check if your windows are updated to the latest version whether it is windows 10 or 11, that follow the instructions below.

    Select the Start button and then go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update.

    - If there are no updates to be made, or if you are already using the latest version, proceed with the solution below.

    Go to Windows settings

    System

    Storage

    Select where new content is saved

    And change where new apps will be saved, select your external drive

    - After that restart your PC, and try to install the games again.

    So if you have a non official 360 hard what can you do with it to play original Xbox games. do you have to get an original 360 hard drive

    Well I'm a big dummy at this lol how can you download if it doesn't show up will it show up on the external drive?

    And also i have my offical hard drive but it doesn't work can i fix that? I think it was saying there know drive located or something like that
