    My external hard drive is no longer being read by my Xbox one. This happened after my xbox updated to the fall update. I have since received a patch on November 1st but I am having this issue which is keeping me from playing my games.

    2.0 USB External Hard drive KO after the last update

    After the last update my external hard drive doesn´t work! Always it worked without problems. I have read in a few forums and I´m not the only one user with this problem.

    Using a portable HDD

    The small print at the bottom of the page that I linked for you mentions:

    "USB flash drive is not a hard drive."

    Xbox's connection with an external drive is read-only. You can only read files that are already on the drive after connecting. You can't save game files or anything else on the Xbox main drive onto an external hard drive.

    Could be the external hard drive causing the issue then it won't be the first time I seen errors appearing after updates on external hard drives. Try installing it on internal drive instead if you can?.
