    External Hard Drive issues


    Hello, I am having issues with my external hard drive(its a seagate if that will help). It started last night by "taking too long to load" any of the games/apps I tried playing.

    I figured this might be just a short term thing(it happened before and fixed itself within a few hours) so I went to bed. Got up this morning and now my xbox one s won't even recognize the external drive(I keep most of my games and apps on it since it's a 3tb).

    I tried looking for solutions online and have already done the following; adjusted power setting to not turn off external drive when power to console is off, reset the console several times, hard reset(holding down the console power button) 3 times, connected the external drive to every USB port, unplugged both console and external drive, and finally just finished a factory reset(wiped everything including games and apps).

    The drive was being recognized again but it was saying that it was still 90% full however none of the apps or games were showing as available for use. I downloaded Hulu again and then the external drive became unrecognized again.

    I don't know what is causing this, or if anyone else has had a similar issue, but if you have any advice or suggestions, I would be very appreciative.

    Having the same issues. Could be something to do with the external hard drive maybe, not had time to troubleshoot yet though.

    Some ideas to try maybe?

    1. Make the Xbox One drive the primary drive, while the external drive is still plugged in

    2. Try with the external hard drive unplugged

    No idea if this will make a difference, but this issue only started for me since I got an external drive. Unless others are having the same issue with no external hard drive?

    May I know if an external hard drive is plugged into your console? If yes, have you kept the external hard drive unplugged when performing troubleshooting steps and check if the issue persists without external hard drive?

    Do you have an External hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted External hard drive may cause issues as well.

    If you have an external hard drive could you try deleting a game and installing it directly to the console's hard drive to rule out issues with the external drive itself?
    I am not using a external drive :(
