Discus and support External drive problems anyone? in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; Is anyone else having external hard drive problems?     External drive problems anyone?


    Is anyone else having external hard drive problems? Not sure if it’s cos I got a new xbox, along with another external, that it doesn’t seem to like two externals or something!

    When I turn on I have to unplug and plug back in the hard drives before they’re recognised. Just want to see if this is just me...

    And whilst playing just now had to reinsert the hard drive to get it recognised...it is a branded power through usb style...1tb ssd

    Done it! No thanks to anyone on the forums! Extremely unhelpful!

    If anyone else is have the same problem here is a link to reformatting external hard drives. Likely your hard drive will show as unrecognized so just follow that section. Pretty simple in the end.

    xbox one recognizes drive, won't let me format for extra storage

    I am having trouble with my external hard drive on my xbox one and ever since that new update my xbox one wont recognize that my external hard drive is plugged in I have tried the trouble shooting steps and nothing seems to work and my external hard drive
    is a 3.0 Toshiba external drive is this problem going to be fixed before its released to the general public because I want to play my games that are saved to that drive can anyone tell me if this problem is even being looked into at all

    Update 1407 Broke External Drive

    Unfortunately that setting did make a difference in terms of reading the external drive.

    Anyone else with update 1407 having this problem?

    Going slightly off track.

    Obviously not everyone using External Drives have issues but does anyone think that problems are more likely to occur with games, downloads using External rather than the Internal Drives?

    Not sure why I've never liked the idea of using External Drives, luckily I don't have to but it seems quite a bit of the time when you read about someone having issues they are using External Drives?
