    External Drive not loading games on first boot


    For the past month I have been experiencing a weird issue. I have an external hard drive which I have used for a long time and when I first boot up my console, although the game disc is inserted, the game does not start. The console has the latest updates
    and I have tried the other USB 3.0 slot, and it does the same thing. Once I restart the console with the External Drive plugged in, the game boots immediately.

    I have shifted my External Hard Drive to a friend's console and the games boot up immediately. (game disc and external drive to boot the game).

    Any ideas what the issue might be?

    i have just changed the Blu Ray Drive via a local repair shop, didnt help.

    I wrote that upon ejecting the External Drive, the game being read normally.

    Funny thing is that the drive is detected, I can see the games saved on it, but upon first bootup (energy saving mode selected as power up mode) the game cannot be read

    It's possible that the problem may be with the console not reading the discs. Please try going to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray and make sure that Enable BD Live is not checked. The click on Persistent Storage and clear it. Finally power cycle the console
    by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. If this does not work then the console may need to be repaired.

    If the console is no longer reading discs then it may need to be sent in for a repair. You can set up a repair of the console via this link

    In the meantime you could try holding the disc for a second after the console grabs it. This could force the console to read the disc. Please note though that this is not a recommended workaround as it may scratch your disc and doesn't solve the existing
    issue.

    kinect is off when booting xbox one

    Do you have an external drive connected to the xbox at boot? My Kinect remains off if I boot the Xbox with my WD external drive plugged in. If I boot the Xbox without the external drive and reconnect it after start up, the Kinect works as normal.
