    My xbox one s the gold subscription has been expired since 1/2/2020 but it still let's me play online games for free to this day. I've been playing black ops 4 without a problem. And I don't have any accounts on my xbox with live. The profile I have set to home xbox hasn't had live for almost 2 years a few more days it will be 2 years. Wondering what's going on

    You can try what Randy suggested but there are pretty strict rules when it comes to digital purchases and subscriptions so don't get your hopes up. You may not have much recourse.

    That will be the only explanation, WinBro1. If you will reset the console keeping your games and apps that will remove all of the accounts logged in as well as accounts that set their account as Home Xbox on your console and by doing that you will also lose access to the subscription since you have mentioned that you don't have one as active.

    Don't worry, as long as you're not doing anything wrong there shouldn't be any problem with you playing online without locating the account where the subscription is active. It's the console's feature to share a subscription.

    Up to this date, an Xbox Live Gold subscription is still required for online multiplayer for games that aren't free on Xbox.

    The only reason why this happened is that one account that has an Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is still sharing the benefits on your Xbox console.
    That's the thing I don't have gold subscription on any account and I've never got the game pass before
