Expired Purchased Points

Hi, I had a balance of $6.34 on my account that expired on Dec 1, 2016. It was considered points based promotional CSV, according to Xbox support chat. I actually purchased points through my old 360 console a while back and didn't use all of them. I assume
they were converted to monetary value and assumed they were originally promotional points but they weren't. I have two receipts for the purchases, each for 500 Xbox live points for $8.34 ($7.25 plus tax), and can print to pdf and email, forward confirmation
emails, or provide order numbers. I tried to resolve the issue through chat three times already and was finally directed to here. I would just like the balance back so I can use it. Thanks.

Billing issues can only be resolved on the phone. The phone number for your region can be found in the link provided by onyx.

 

Phone/chat support are the only ways to contact the billing department who would be the only ones with the ability to do anything about funds in your account. However, there generally is no way to get funds back after they have expired.

 

Sounds good, I will give them a call. How could "funds" expire, though? I understand promotional points expiring but the monetary value that I paid should never expire.

 

I'm not sure why they would have expired. The only time I've heard of paid funds expiring is either Microsoft points that had been converted to currency in 2013 were set to expire if they weren't used by June 1, 2015. Or if you had ever received a refund,
the refund is seen as promotional currency and would have expired.
