Expired credit in Microsoft Account

Hi,

A Microsoft Support chat agent asked me to post my question here.

Some promotional credit in my Microsoft Account expired last week. I am hoping that you could please extend the expiry date?

Support would be the only ones who could extend it if possible. Since this is a community based forum we don't have the ability to do that here. Typically it is not possible to have the expiration date extended.

Actually, Xbox Customer Support would be unable to extend or renew the currency on your account. If you do not use the currency on your Microsoft account before it expires, you will be unable to use it after that date.

if these are credits you have earned then yes they expire after a certain amount of time. only purchased credit on the microsoft account has no expiry.

Unfortunately, once Credits are deposited as currency into your Microsoft Account, we no longer have any control or visibility over them. You would have to reach out to Xbox billing support (http://support.xbox.com/contact-us)
for more assistance. This is outlined in our Terms and Conditions, which states that currency in your Microsoft Account expires after one year:

Cash awarded and deposited into your Account from Rewards Credits during the Program must be redeemed within one (1) year, or it will expire. Any cash awarded and deposited remaining in your Account after the expiration period described above will be forfeited
without compensation.

Note that this is a general Microsoft rule for promotional currencies, such as our Rewards Credits.
