    Hello all,

    Some time in January I started experiencing major issues with Xbox live out of nowhere. One day while playing rocket league (which I did frequently) I started getting extremely high ping, latency, and packet loss. I reset and unplugged everything you could
    think of. Previously I was using a WiFi connection and switched to an Ethernet cable and got Open NAT, didn’t help.
    I have some long distance friends from college I used to play rocket league with all the time. The lag is so bad I can’t play with them at all anymore. This has been going on a long time and I haven’t been able to resolve it. Note that I have tried other
    online games and run into the same lag issues.

    I have Comcast and am using a NetGear router.

    My speed tests on Xbox frequently return packet losses of around 30% and latencies of >100. I haven’t experienced MAJOR issues on other devices, although the WiFi isn’t always superb. The speed tests I run on my phone/laptop for our internet all seem good.

    I called Xbox and they seemed to think it was my service provider or router. I called Comcast, they reset a bunch of stuff, said they weren’t able to detect my router being back online, and wanted to send a tech out. No thanks. My next move is to call
    NetGear. If I can determine that the router is the issue, I’ll happily drop an unreasonable amount of money on a brand new one to get this resolved.

    Has anyone else experienced something like this, where their Xbox live performance dropped severely all of a sudden? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. I want my friends back :/

    Everything was fine at first everything working then while I was

    playing a game it started to lag and slowly the lag got greater and even in Xbox live party chats it would lag.. It's been doing it for a few days now and it's become unplayable how it is. I tried your solutions and they didn't work..

    This time I notice in network settings it says:

    The Xbox network is currently unavailable

    • Xbox live core services
    • Social and gaming
    I did not notice this before but maybe it’s always been there. When I go to Xbox.com/services, there aren’t any current issues that match. I also got into a local game and did not have the lagging.
