Exchange Microsoft Store Version of Forza Horizon 4 for Steam Version

Since Forza Horizon 4 got released on Steam, I've been wondering if I'm able to transfer my Microsoft Store version of the game for the Steam version. I would prefer to have it on Steam for ease of access, having a screenshot button and to have a playtime count.

Afraid not. The steam version is a separate game, the Windows 10 Store version can't be exchanged.

It wouldn't be so much of an issue if MS hadn't decided that nearly all of their games were installed to the encrypted WindowsApps folder that you can't backup.

I know that! I just want to share my general disgust with having the game on MS Store!

Here's one of the reasons why:

To install the game I open MS Store app, cannot find the game there anywhere in my library. I have to click purchases upon where it opens a website with my purchases ... There I have to click the game title ... then it opens the page where I can finally find an install button .... except no! That button wants to open a link in MS Store app! .... there FINALLY it opens a page with the game and a final INSTALL button! [mod removed] Microsft? Slap left, slap right for you! Your Store is absolute [mod removed[!

I also would be interested in exchanging my Win 10 Store copy with the Steam copy.

You can't since the windows store version is also the play anywhere titles it has to be linked to xbox store not steam

This applies to game pass too

You can install xbox games for Windows 10 titles in the xbox app and you can launch from the same client just like steam

This allows you to use cloud saves etc
