Evil Within 2 Crashes On Start Screen Gamepass PC

I feel your pain. This is exactly what happened to me. I got round it by disconnecting from the internet before booting the game. Therefore it wasn't able to see the cloud save and got me back into the game with the local save on my laptop. Luckily I didn't lose any progress. Hope this works for you. Can you try to find a fix already? Because the cause of this is because I need to choose which save location I want to pick, local or cloud. But the ***** window does not come to the foreground, but the background of the game. Next to that, for some godforsaken reason it is not an application but only a window, so alt+tab ain't **** working.

Also looking somewhere in the setting to sync cloud and local files, but can't find it.

Hiya, I just had this problem tonight. Seemed to be caused by cloud save not syncing properly. Upon forcing the game to quit I was getting a pop up asking which save I would like to use, but this window should have been visible before quitting out. Because I couldn't get to this window, the game hangs waiting for a response. Managed to get past this by resetting the laptop and then activating airplane mode (no internet). This meant it couldn't see the cloud save and therefore booted straight into the game fine. Luckily my local save was an autosave so lost no progress. Once I was back in the game I deactivated airplane mode so that it could save etc but likely cloud save won't sync after that. I was on the last chapter though so didn't really care at that point. Give it a try though. If it's the same issue I was having it might just get you back in the game as it's worth putting the time in. Best of luck!
