Everything is offline!

At the main menu I only have the option for solo campaign no multiplayer or community it also says I'm offline at the bottom of the screen. I checked my connection and the multiplayer connection on the network menu and they both passed. I read on the forums
you need an update so I did a beat the game on normal to pass the time made sure the instant on was checked in the settings shut off the Xbox and went to bed hoping it would download by morning. Now I'm *** is there anybody that has run into this or can tell
me the working version I assume the 75160 at the top of the main menu is the version number. Thanks

You can get Achievements offline . Everything is stored in a local cloud cache when you play offline.

 

Everything down, even offline games

Our suggestions are to follow basic troubleshooting procedures as our engineers release a patch throughout each region for all users.

This process takes time, what is advised is to follow variants of Restarting the Console as in some cases the console may only
need a fresh start.

If that is the version number you have the same version as me and online works perfectly.

I assume you do have a gold membership?

First thing to try is fully shutting down your xbox until the light on the power brick is orange. To do that just press and hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down.

Once light on power brick is orange unplug for a few minutes.

Also reboot you modem and router.

Once your router is full connected to the net you should plug the xbox back in, switch on and try halo again.

Another thing you can try is to delete and redownload your xbox profile. You will need to know your email and password to redownload it..

If it still doesn't work after doing this then you may need to uninstall the game then reinstall it

 

That didn't work I tried the power block, deleted and redownloaded my profile, modem and router are fine if I put in the Master Chief Collection I can play multiplayer fine, I deleted the game and all addons right after I posted the original entry reinstalled
it and I am still having the same problems.

 

Very weird. But when you say modem and router fine with masterchief did you actually try restarting them?

Sounds like something is blocking your connection with the game servers. restarting or in other words unplugging them for a minute before plugging back in is worth a try unless you have already done that.

But you are probably better off posting on the official halo waypoint forums at halowaypoint.com

Those forums are busy and your post is more likely to get seen by someone who can help you.

This xbox.com forum is not the best place to come for help due to lack of people reading them.

I don't suppose any of you have tried changing your DNS settings?

It's a long shot but years ago I couldn't connect to the servers on Final Fantasy XI online on the 360.

It turned out that the game didn't like my ISP's DNS servers.

I changed the DNS in the xbox 360 settings and the game started working.

Maybe you could try that?

go into the x1 settings app, find the network settings then advanced. Change the DNS settings to manual then enter a different DNS server.

Try entering the googleDNS settings. for primary enter 8.8.8.8 and secondary enter 8.8.4.4. After saving and doing the network test you should restart the console then try Halo again.

I don't know if halo 5 goes through DNS to get the servers IP or not but it wont do any hard trying. If it doesn't work you can just switch the DNS back to automatic.
