    Every time my series S has an "update" the size of the update is the exact size of the entire game. This leads me to believe that of course it's not updating anything but just randomly re-installing entire games for no reason. Today it was kakarot, last night was everspace 2 immediatly after i downloaded it from trashpass yesterday was dying light 2 and last week was midnight suns. Kakarot apparently DID have some dlc released on the 16th, but when I looked up the file size is wasn't 46.19 gigs. I read some of these posts saying it's the external HD which, of course it's not because I don't have an external HD and the series S is completely digital. Anytime my kid wants to play a game, minecraft for instance, she has to wait for it to download in its entirety. She's 6 so yeah, that doesn't happen. Yet another perfect example of a company that makes trillions a year failing everywhere it can. MS made 4.5 BILLION DOLLARS in 2022 in JUST gamepass subscriptions alone. So yeah, while I digress I'd just like to know of anyone knows why the series s has been doing this and how to stop it?

    Repeated system updates

    My One has been updating like crazy the last couple weeks too, often during a gaming session kicking me out for a little while (very annoying). It seems like the same sized updates are being installed every time as well.

    Hi, that's usually what happens when you download an update. Most of the time updates install over the files that need updating. It's not like the xbox 360 where an update is installed and adds to the file size. With Xbox One games, updates are installed
    over files that are needed to be updated. hence why the file size has not changed.

    I downloaded the update on the Xbox One and it was only 2 to 3 gigs... The PC version is the one being most reported for having to re-download the game for the update... However some are saying after canceling the download multiple times it finally would
    kick in and download the correct update that is only 2 to 3 gigs..

    Update size

    depending on which parts of the game you have to change, it alters what is patched. If you alter one bit of a block, you have to do the whole thing.

    It's basically a random chance whether the patch sizes are close or far apart
