Every time I try to open my Dashboard I get the “Something went wrong” error

Hello! Thanks for your reply. Can you still access your console's setting? If not, power cycle your console again then press and hold the Bind button and the Eject button, then press the Power Button. Bind is located below the power button and the Eject button is next to the disc drive on the front of the console.

Hold the Bind and Eject buttons for between 10 and 15 seconds, or until you hear the system power-up sound twice in a row. The process has failed if you do not hear the power-up sound or if you hear the power-down sound.

Sorry to hear about your issue with your Xbox. May I know which Xbox model are you using so we can try some steps to isolate the issue? If you can still access the settings, you can try resetting it while keeping your games & apps.

You can try to refresh your operating system and delete all potentially corrupted data that restricts you from using your console normally without deleting your games or apps. Just a heads-up, doing this will erase the profiles on the console including Home Xbox designation but will not remove any installed games & apps on your console.

To do this, select settings, then Select All Settings. On the Settings page, let's select System, then Select Console info and lastly, select Reset console. On the Reset your console screen, we'll see three options and we'll select the Reset and keep my games & apps. If the issue persists, I am afraid there may be a problem on the console, Xerviks.
