    Every day?


    Is there a reason to why every time I turn on my xbox it has decided to delete the 2 million updates I've already been forced to download to even be online? Even if I want to play offline, the black box of lackluster makes me download them to even be in
    a party.... I've spent to much money on this crap as is, can't afford that and 500 gbs of data every month. Really missing that PS4.

    Actually, it's more now! I DIDN'T RENEW 3 GOLD MEMBERSHIPS!!!!!!!!! This past FREE gold week-end did nothing to change my mind, either. IW can't do anything but ruin the COD series of games, and those were basicaly all I played, logging many days with the
    series until they became so hack-fested and IW didn't give a crap!

    (Sigh). Sorry for the rant......

    Every day an update

    Preview member since 360 days. My xbox one goes through an update every morning that lasts about 40 minutes. I'm wondering is this what's supposed to happen or am I having issues?

    The reason is you need to turn off auto update or get a better Internet service

    It's happened yet again this morning . And I highly doubt internet quality is causing this to delete things (though i just moved to the country and admittedly have slower internet.) Why would the auto update cause this?

    Hi there.

    If the console is working properly you should not be seeing updates reinstalling.

    Are you part of the Insider preview program by chance?

    Is the console plugged into a power strip or wall outlet, and do you use an external hard drive?

    Is the console finishing the update installs without issue?

    From the outside looking in (as I'm not a preview member), may I humbly suggest that if you don't want these daily updates you should pull out of the program? As for whether or not these updates are mandatory, I guess we should wait and see whether any other
    preview members have got the same prob?

    Hard reset EVERY day...

    Here's some interesting information---

    At the top of this page you'll see my complaint about experiencing this issue 3 times in one day... that was yesterday, right after the march update. So I was very fed up, and I actually contacted my local Microsoft Store and explained the issue. My console
    was still under warranty, so I exchanged it for another one, which was surprisingly easy and convenient to arrange.

    ANYWAYS... So I go home with a different Xbox entirely, set it up, begin re-installing games, and everything seems ship shape for about 24 hours. THEN, the same exact error described in this thread started happening again... I'm astounded.

    As far as I can see, what this means is that it's not an issue with the Xbox itself, but some other component of our setups. With that said, I can't imagine it's the TV, I doubt it's the power brick or the Kinect (both of which are from my xbox before I
    exchanged). I can only imagine that it's our internet connections.

    I mean, it always happens in Instant On mode, where the console is constantly connected to the internet. It's possible that some glitch occurs as the console communicates with our modems/routers during periods of time where it's in standby..Maybe this glitch
    only occurs with certain routers/modems?

    I find it incredibly unlikely that I would exchange for another Xbox that would ALSO happen have this rare issue, so I don't think it's the Xbox itself. Thoughts??

    If anyone wants to compare internet specs to try and get to the bottom of this, post them to this forum.

    I'm using an ARRIS Modem model CM550A, and a Netgear Router model N600.

    If it's not the internet connection, then I don't know what it is... I could go a few weeks without Kinect and see if that does anything at all.
