  3. Also in reply Genesis1953 I am not ignoring your request to try a different ISP I just have not had time to visit my parents again yet as they live an hours drive from me and I have been extremely busy with work this week. I will update this thread with
the results once I get them so please leave this thread open.

  4. Ethernet Connection between Console and Router constantly drops

Ok so I eventually sent my Xbox to Microsoft for a service/repair. It came back today and it still has the same problem. I know Microsoft have opened the case since my vinyl sticker has been moved slightly so I have no doubt they fixed it or at least tested
it their end which means the problem can not be the console.

So I bought a brand new cat.6 Ethernet lead just incase all of my Ethernet leads were somehow the problem... They wernt, even with the new Ethernet the problem still persists. So now that's a new/repaired console, a new router and a new Ethernet lead and
still I have this issue. I also tried the console at my parents house who are on a different ISP and router altogether and I could not replicate the problem.

So now I guess I can safely presume that the problem has to be with a configuration or software of sky's router that is beyond my understanding, which is strange because you would presume hundreds and thousands of sky users in the UK would also be experiencing
this problem and I don't think they are. But either way does anyone have any final suggestions in things to try with the router setup before I just give up entirely on trying to use Ethernet for my consoles internet connection and have to go back to using
laggy WIFI? I have totally ran out of ideas here..

How were your Xbox Ones power supply connected at your parents house? Through a multi socket extension cable, or directly plugged in to the wall socket? If the latter one, try connect your Xbox Ones power supply directly to the wall socket.

If that didn't work, set your Xbox Ones power mode to Energy-saving, and let us know if you're able to reproduce this behaviour.

Or, if you choose to keep the current power mode (Instant-on) on, disable UPnP and manually configure your consoles IP settings as static.

I know from previous situations where certain UPnP stacks doesn't play nice when having your Xbox Ones power mode set to Instant-on.

I do. If they are using a different provider with different hardware it, IMO, would definitely be worth trying it. Keep us informed. Good Luck!

My sky hub is model number SR102. I never used my parents router after I just had a new one sent me by sky so it's identical to the last one. My parents have a totally different ISP alltogether, do you think it's worth testing the Xbox using a totally different
    ISP?
