Error when trying to redeem digital code

Recently bought an xbox one x. Not able to redeem the 3M digital download code for Xbox live gold. Upon entering code on xbox, it routed me to microsoft edge to finish redemption process. The code pops up the correct information for the 3 month gold membership
but as soon as I click redeem, it says there has been an error (Something went wrong). Went to the xbox.com/errorhelp page and entered information and it says no info found. Here is the code that was generated.

Code was for 3 MO Gold Membership digital copy.

I purchased and have received and redeemed the codes for the games but seem to be getting an error code trying to redeem the 12 Month Live code.

Any ideas? It just suggests trying again later.

Error 80153005 occurs when you try to download content on Xbox Live
Problem

You see the following error message when you try to download content on Xbox Live:

Can't retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later.

Status code: 80153005

This may mean one of the following:

• The content offer is no longer available. For example, a game demo is no longer available.
  
  Note You might also be unable to download content because of a network connection issue. To verify that you can access all Xbox Live features, see the “Solutions” section.
  

Solutions
Solution 1: Verify the status of the service and your connection to Xbox Live.
Follow these steps:

1. Go to Service status to check for any current issues with the service.
   
2. If there are no reported issues with the service, wait a few minutes and try again.
   
3. Run the Xbox Live connection test:
   1. At the Xbox Dashboard, select settings.
   2. Select System.
   3. Select Network Settings.
   4. Select your network.
   5. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.

Solution 2: Try to download the content again. Search Xbox Live again. If you can’t find the content, the content has probably been removed from Xbox Live. Check periodically to see if the content has been made available again.

Solution 3: Verify your subscription level. Here’s how:

1. Click Sign In at the top of any
   xbox.com page (such as this one).
2. Enter your Microsoft account information, and then click Sign In.
3. Click My Account.
4. Under Xbox Live, verify your subscription level.
