Error trying to redeem gears of war 3 code provided by xbox live after purchase gears of war 4

hi guys.

After purchase gears of war 4, microsoft (xbox live) sent me a message direclty to my console inbox with the codes of all previous gears of war games. I successfully redeem the gears 2 and gears judgment codes after set my xbox account into US but I can't
redeem the code no matter if I use the xbox web or the console.

After playing Gears of War 4, I was entitled to the full back catalogue of Gears games.

I received a message from Xbox Live with the codes to redeem Gears 3 and Gears: Judgement and after redeeming Gears 3, I went back to redeem the code for Judgement but the message had disappeared along with the code.

That would be why your account region must reflect your actual region

If you don't live in an xbox live region you can't redeem it

 

You must update it using the region migration tool

 

I live in Panama and change the account region to US after that I successfully redeem 2 codes. I already change the region

 

Again that is why.you don't live in an actual xbox live region therefore your cannot redeem them

Any suggestion otherwise is a violation of the terms of use

Gears 1 and 3 are region locked

Also it is mentioned that you must live in an xbox live region to qualify for all these games

Since you don't live in an xbox live region no one can help you but to wait till either Panama is supported or you move to an actual xbox live region

Changing your region wont do a thing it is your physical region that has to.match your account region

I don't request this code from Microsoft, MS automatically sent me that code but I don't understand Why Microsoft sent me a code that I can never redeem, as I mentioned before, using my console I redeem the code for gears 2 and gears judgment (all of this
after changing the region of my account to US) but to my surprise ..... It is not enabling me redeem the code for the gears 1 and 3 because it's region locked (that's the answer received in this forum). I took the trouble to engage Microsoft support people
and they told me that this is a known issue for gears 1 and 3, that I should open a post in this forum and wait to be contacted by the Promotions team from Microsoft.

I think it's an insult to my intelligence that I be sent codes that I cant redeem because I'm in a different region. Why doesn't Microsoft sent these codes within the proper regions and not creating false expectations "the codes were sent to me before I
changed my region to US", the main reason why I won't to redeem the code is because I have the hard copy which is damaged and that's why I would want the digital version of gears 3. I'm a big fan of the gears of war saga and the only reason I had to buy an
xbox one was the announcement of gears of war 4.

When Microsoft communicate the compatibility matrix between xbox 360 and xbox one (that contains the previous 4 versions of gears) I thought I could have all the gears in digital version but it turns out that you can not.

The truth all this seems a bad joke to the players that we come from the first xbox and we go to xbox 360, where we fell in love with the game and by a lack of communication on the part of microsoft we can not have what we want even if it's paying. To be
honest, I will finish playing this year and migrate to another console to avoid this.

Like ngocphi has pointed out, the Gears of War codes are very finicky and if you have a region mismatch between your Xbox Live account and your physical location, you may experience issues redeeming the codes. It sounds like your Xbox Live account is set
to a region that does not match your physical location so you'll want to
migrate your account to Panama and then try redeeming the codes again. Once everything is set to Panama, you should have no problems redeeming your codes.
