For over a week now I've been trying to redeem a code and I get the error message

Something went wrong Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate.

I'm able to redeem other game codes but not Fallout 3. I'm in South Africa, I've done all the troubleshooting steps with 3 different Microsoft Techs but no luck.

Sorry to hear it. That code usually means that the item is not available in your region. Now, I looked at the game and it does seem to be available in South Africa but the code you are using may be meant for a different region.

Just to be sure though, are you trying to redeem on the Xbox 360 or Xbox One console? If you are trying on the Xbox One console then please try redeeming it on a 360 to see if that helps.

Hi, the XBOS-4000 error usually indicates either that you are in a region that the code you're trying to redeem isn't valid because the game isn't available there, or that your account region and physical location do not match.

Sorry to hear about that. Are you trying to redeem the codes via your console or via the website? Could you be sure to try both options? Also take a look at the

prepaid code error page and try all the steps there. If you're getting a specific error message or code (XBOS-0000 or 0x00000000) can you provide that to us so we can look into it?

Make sure your account is set for France, not just the console. You would want to go to
http://commerce.microsoft.com to verify you have the correct account information. If not, you would need to migrate your account region. https://live.xbox.com/accountmigration
