    i have a vizio e60-e3 that says it supports 120hz refresh rate, 4k, and hdr10, but only on HDMI 1 and only when enabled. I am on that port and it is enabled. Xbox one x with the Microsoft provided HDMI high speed cable gives error or acts like it isn't plugged
    in at all when 4k is selected in display and sound. Console works fine in 1080, but why have a one x and 4k TV to play in 1080? Xbox support article says that error means the tv doesnt support 60hz but surely that isnt it since it claims 120hz. Ive tried rebooting
    console and resetting TV, and reversing the HDMI cable. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

    4K Monitor for Xbox One X?

    Same here. I own a 32" 4K Philips BDM3275UP, that has all the specs to use 4K (HDMI2.0, 4K@60, HDR10, right cables), but the XB1X doesn't detect it as a 4K output device.

    A typical non-working Microsoft product. 500Euro for nothing!

    Plex Media Server- Constantly Buffering Movies for 4k movies.

    Yeah. Bought an XB1X primarily to play 4K HDR PLEX content. Getting with PLEX to get this fixed would be really nice.

    The Xbox One X supports 120hz only at 1440p and 1080p resolutions. It does not support 120hz at 4k. So unless your TV or monitor supports 1440p resolution (many don't), you will only get 1080p when selecting 120hz.

    The others are right. Microsoft implemented a fix where clips that do not record in 4K will record in 1080p instead. They'll probably fix it very fast as everyone with a XB1X is affected.

    thanks for the input, the monitor is a ASUS VP28UQG 28" 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 with a 60Hz refresh rate, seemed perfect for the xb1x so im gutted im having this issue
