Error message 0xcd5212 when trying to play MKV files with DTS sound.

honestly no but you can convert it to mpeg 4 with DTS and it will work just as nice mkv is pretty much a hacker format made from illegal movie rips which is why i wouldn't be asking about it here.

I also have problems playing MKV files with DTS sound, gets ERROR 0x00d5212, does any one know why?

The update was to include the support of MKV files.

Maybe give it an un-install and re-download? Possibly it will pick up the update and allow the use of MKV! Only idea i have on that one as it should have been done for you??

I can also confirm that it is a DTS audio problem but it can be worked around very easily with a free program called PopCorn MKV AudioConverter.

Install it and it will ask if you want to also install MKVToolNix. Once installed just select the source MKV movie file and tick the box on the top right "Convert DTS Tracks". Also tick "convert to Dolby Digital". You have a few other options in here to
keep the DTS file too. This is up to you but I've not found a way of changing ausio tracks in the Media Player. (If anyone has let me know).

You then select file destination (Use a drive that's different to source). HIT RUN!

This will fairly quickly (10mins on my PC with a SSD drive) convert the DTS to Dolby Digital and Remux it back into the MKV to create a new video file with audio that will play.

Looks like you nailed it. The problem indeed looks like its linked to the audio encoding. I compared seven different mkv files, four that would not play and three that played. The four that failed were all DTS audio, and all three working files were AC-3.

So it appears DTS audio format is not supported at the moment.
