So since Sacred Gold is only compatible with Windows XP (as far as I know) I would suggest you to create a virtual machine on your computer with Windows XP installed and try to install and play the game through it.

I'm having a problem on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 I with the mediatek driver too. I installed it and just had the device manager go online and find the driver. I've had several crashes, an instant reboot and I just woke up to a reboot and crashdump.

You only need the x64 drivers. x86 is for 32bit.
