Error FH601 - after few months of playing a game

The error code FH601 means that there are Windows Media components missing to install Forza Horizon 3. For us to determine the root cause of this issue, kindly answer the following questions:

• Are you getting any error messages when installing the Windows Media components?
• Which version of Windows 10 are you using? (e.g. 1607 version, 1511 version)
• Is this the only game you're encountering this issue?

To view the version of your Windows operating system, kindly follow the steps provided on this

After finding out your Windows 10 version, kindly download the Media Feature Pack appropriate for your device. See Media
Feature Pack for Windows 10 N and Windows 10 KN editions (November 2015) and Media Feature Pack for N editions of Windows
10 Version 1607 for more information on how to manually download the updates.

Achievements are working fine for me. I unlocked a few last night playing AC Unity. But I know what you mean I just recently had a few achievements from the master chief collection unlock after a few months of waiting but didn't have any errors codes though..

This didn't fix my problem as I have already tried this. The version of Windows I have is Windows Education N, Version 2004. There isn't an "N' update for Version 2004. It only goes up to Version 1809.

• What is the current build of Windows 10 you are using on your computer? You can refer this article to Check for the operating
  system information in Windows 10.
  
• Was Windows Media feature pack installed successfully installed or do you receive any error code/message during the installation?
  

I understand it can be frustrating when the application don’t work the way they are supposed to. The error code/ message, the issue might be due to missing Windows Media components and missing media .dll files to install Forza Horizon 4.

Please follow the below mentioned methods and check if that makes any difference.



Method 1:

There are different version of Media Feature Pack for different versions of Windows 10. As you have Windows 10 Pro N installed on your computer, I suggest to refer this article Media
Feature Pack list for Windows N editions and select the appropriate Media Feature Pack for the version of Windows installed on your computer.



If the issue persist, please refer method 2.



Method 2:



I also suggest you to update the graphic driver on your computer and check with the issue, please refer the article Update
drivers in Windows 10, expand display adaptor and follow the steps mentioned in the article.

I decided to play Forza Horizons after a few months of no playing it. I have the physical disc and i get the same error on my original 360 and the slim. you need to fix it. I want to play my limited edition. We need a fix.
