Error during saving Xbox as home

Hi,

2 weeks ago I bought brand new Xbox One (X, but I guess it doesn't matter).

I connected account which was previosly used by my few years ago on Xbox 360 and redeemed codes which I recived with console (for Forza games and trials for Gold and Game Pass).

Everything was working fine, I was able to play games also online.

I wanted to set my Xbox as a home, but every time I try it result with this error

"Unable to save changes - We are unable to connect to the service at the moment"

I contacted with support and with their help I make these steps:

- restored console to the factory

- added account during initial run proces after restoring to factory, it resulted with 0x80A40008 error, after normal boot account was logged in correctly

- changed password

- bought Game Pass Ultimate

- tried different network (even using VPN)

- removed and added account multiple times

- switched location in console settings

- tried login using Skype (logged succesful) and phone (failed, error that account not found, even if on Microsoft account setting page my phone is connected)

None of them helped me.

My account display 5 switches left and I think it's correct value as my account was never used before to set Xbox as a home one.

I noticed when I try to login using old email it's says it connected to my account. I removed it in Microsoft account, so it shoudln't be possible. I assume it might be related to my issue.

What else can I try to set my Xbox One as a home console?

Thanks for ur reply.

I almost thought that updating address will help.

It was true that there was some old contact info (even older email) and incorrect address.

My profile was removed from Xbox when I was fixing the address (set correct one as a primary, I wasn't able to remove rest).

After that I also changed password to account and restored console to default.

During first run all steps were completed fine, no errors, but console was not marked as home.

Also when I try to do it in console settings there is the same error "Unable to save changes - We are unable to connect to the service at the moment".

In address book when I tried to open "Manage business profile" there are few of them GB, US (business and personal), PL, could it be the root cause of the issue? Can I somehow fix them, I don't see any option to remove
invalid.

Maybe also somewhere else there are invalid data that I could update?

I'm afraid that won't be my case as this is my first Xbox One and I never set any console as home.

Hello Szeksu,

Thanks for the update. We would like you to go to the
account website, and update your address even if it is correct update it. Doing this will update the profile. Make sure the profile is not on the console. Once you update the address then try and download the profile. Being that it was last used on a Xbox
360 it most likely needs updating or refreshed. To update address log in on website, select your info, just above picture select contact info. Once there go towards the bottom and click on address book.

You can also got to the xbox website, login and go to your Microsoft account and from there you can manage devices to see what your account is linked to.

I tried if there is an option to set Xbox as home using that dashboard, but I wasn't able to find any place where it would be possible.

If u have any informations about possible steps that are necessary to do that way, please let me know.
