I too have Verizon wireless for cellular, iphone 14 pro max running ios 16.1.2, the xbox app is up to date and my xbox is a wired connection with 200 mbs.



Cannot connect over cellular. Wi-Fi works. Cellular, no.. I’ve been streaming Xbox since the program was in beta.. never have had issues until a couple months ago. Problems just not getting resolved by Microsoft.

When the console is off and you try cloud gaming from your phone on cellular the console boots up and acts like it’s going to connect but then an error message pops on your phone.

following this, I’ve been having the same issue lately; months ago i could remote play over cellular with no issue, now i get the same message but with this error code. However remote play works just fine when i’m connected to wi-fi, and not just my home wi-fi.

I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps but nothing seems to work.

We would like to know what is different between your phone and your computer in connecting to the Xbox Remote Play. Please check or provide the following:



Is your Xbox Console in Sleep Power Option? Is your Xbox Console plug in?

Is your Xbox app for mobile detected your Xbox Console?

How far are you from Xbox Console?

May we ask for a screenshot or picture of Test Remote Play of your Xbox Console?

Please ensure that only connected device is your Samsung Note 20 plus.

I am having the exact same problem. My iPhone running IOS 16 works great when using remote play from my Xbox series S (on the same Wi-Fi). However, if I am trying to use cellular 5G, it doesn’t work. I have tried everything and I can guarantee that this is an issue with the Xbox app or with IOS. If you are using iOS 15, you won’t have any issues using Xbox remote play over cellular. I have tested and can confirm that if you try and initiate an Xbox remote play session over cellular, it will send a signal that turns on your Xbox (I am sitting in front of my monitor), but on your phone’s screen, you will get an error message that says “We found your console but can't connect. Try from a different Wi-Fi or cellular network.”

Please fix this Microsoft.

Please also note that I work in the industry as a technology support specialist. I am part of the IT service desk that supports over 237,000 users. So, I have tried everything and unfortunately, this needs to be fixed on Microsoft’s end.

Please also note that PlayStation remote play works flawlessly over cellular on IOS 16.

Please also note that I have the latest version of IOS 16.1.1 and I also have the latest version of the Xbox app 2022.11.2
