    Error codes & Offline update


    When starting up my Xbox one S it began to take a few more minutes to load/ get to the login screen than normal, once I get past login screen everything seems to be working fine. Now whether I watch a movie on Disney, Netflix, etc or play a game it will only work for about half an hour before the Xbox starts to lag then completely freezes within a few minutes of the lagging. At first I would just restart it and it would load a little faster and work for about an hour then do it again. First error code to pop up was E208, did some research and figured I'd try the OSU1 offline update. Everything seemed to be working fine with the update until it got to the 2/3 part where it would be stopped at 25% for a few minutes then come up with a new screen "Something went wrong" error code E101. Please help, I have not reset my Xbox back to factory settings and would prefer not to if possible. Is this something i will have to send in?

    I got error code E101 so i did go to the error code solutions and i downloaded the offline software update file but when i want to extract the files it says there’s nothing in the offline system update file to extract

    Update: I've concluded the hard drive is probably bad. After many hours, I have been able to get to the Troubleshooter and have tried to do factory resets as well as offline updates of OSU1 and factory reset. The soft factory reset has just come back
    with other error codes as have the offline updates. Sometimes the offline updates successfully complete but come back with error codes (ex. 200 and 103). The offline updates often get to a point where each additional % of progress is very very slow. You can
    hear the hard drive working hard when that happens. The error codes seem to indicate failure of offline updates. So I have given up. Luckily I realized my 1 year warranty was not up yet so I will be sending the unit back for warranty repair.

    24 Oct 2019 Update, Xbox frozen on applying updates

    i was able to get the troubleshoot mode to come up. i was able to download the update on to the USB.

    once i plugged the USB into the xbox and selected update offline. i receieve an error code automatically.

    System Error: E101 00000504 8B050041.

    a google search led me to this site:

    which leads me back to updating offline using a USB.
