Error Code after resetting

Hey all, I'm really hoping that someone here can help me, as I'm just about ready to toss my console into the damn ocean.

Might not make a difference, but I live in Australia.

Yesterday (27 June, 2019) mine and my partners XBox One S consoles were working perfectly. Today, they wouldn't connect to Xbox Live, the Store, half the settings couldn't be accessed as you needed to be connected to Xbox Live.

I jumped online and tried everything I could find - I reset the internet router, cycled the console, hard reset the console, fiddled around with the internet connection and reset them again, and, finally, reset the console because nothing would work.

Once the console was reset, it went through the startup process and all was fine until it reached the Update section, and herein lies the worst part of my headache.

"There was a problem with the update. You need this update to use your console, but something went wrong. For help, visit (website) Console ID: 06ff40b0.46efd7e9.ea399ae8.51689605.01 Error code: 0x8B0500B6 0x00000000 0x00000201"

I've tried hard resetting my console at this point and upon restarting it comes right back to this point.

There have been no power outages to screw with the system, but I just don't know what to do. This entire clusterfuck has just about reduced me to tears.

If need be, I can return my partners console and exchange it as its only a few weeks old, but mine is likely out of warranty, I don't even have the receipt anymore.

Can anyone please advise me what to do?
