Error Code 0x87e50031

My Series X will not launch ANY game. When launching a game it immediately crashes back to the home screen. I have deleted and reinstalled games , reset the system and restarted several times with no luck. Repeatedly trying to launch a game will eventually pop error code 0x87e50031. All apps will work with no issues but any game will immediately fail. I've searched the error code online with no luck at all. I'm out of ideas and things to try any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear that. Here are the steps that you can try for your concern.

Solution 1. Do you have an external hard drive plugged in to the console right now?

If yes, can you unplug it and Please Turn off console > (press and hold power button for 10 seconds) unplug everything from the console > wait for 2 minutes and plug everything back > Turn On the console.

Once done, please check if the issue still persist while the external hard drive is unplugged.

Solution 2.Try removing your account and add it back again.

To remove your account:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

To add it again:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Sign in.

Select Add & manage.

Select Add new.

Enter your Microsoft account email address and password.

Solution 3. Clear your local save games file and persistent storage.

Make sure that there’s no disc in the disc tray.

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.

Select Settings > All Settings

Choose System > Storage.

Now select Clear local saved games.

Choose Yes to confirm.

Restart your console

Press the Menu key on your controller.

Click Settings, then go to Disc & Blu-Ray.

Select Persistent Storage.

Click Clear Persistent Storage.

Solution 4. Try to do a soft factory reset without removing any games and apps.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings > System > Console info > reset then keep my games and apps.

NOTE: This will delete the profiles on your account, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

I did those steps and it's still not launching and gives me that error code.

Remove the disc from the console, do these 2 steps below, and try again, please.

Step 1: Clear the storage cache on your console.

Press the Menu key on your controller.
Click Settings, devices & streaming, and then go Blu-Ray.
Select Persistent Storage.
Click Clear Persistent Storage 3 times

Step 2: Power cycle your console.

Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console until it shuts down completely.
Unplug the console's power cable, wait 10 seconds. Be sure to wait 10 seconds, this step resets the power supply. 
Plug the console power cable back in, turn on your Xbox.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I've tried all of those suggested methods with the exception of unplugging the hard drive as I don't have one connected and the results are the same. Apps will launch fine but games are a no go.

So I just bought the disc version of Forza Horizon 5 and everytime I try to launch the game it says “something went wrong” and displays the error code 0x87e50031. Please help me.
