Error code 0x87e00031 and can’t find solution anywhere

I have been trying to update Fortnite on my Xbox one for probably a month now all with no luck. Every single other game I have has had no issue at all updating. I do have an external storage I use but when I’ve tried to remove it then Fortnite won’t even update at all. It just immediately says “installation stopped” which it has been doing before I did that, it would just normally take a minute or two to say it. I have tried restarting my Xbox every way I know how. I’ve checked my WiFi and I’m connected. I’ve had other people try to do things themselves and it still won’t do anything. I’ve done everything I know and it just won’t update. I could really use help.

Have you tried uninstalling Fortnite, removing the external drive, then reinstalling it?

Hi, this didn’t work. It said it required an update followed by installation stopped.

Also when you click on the game then it gives error code 0x87e00031
