Error code 0x87e00029 - Gamepass on PC is a software disaster

As a first step I recommend you to update Windows to its latest version, this can be done from the settings of your PC.

If the error persists the next step would be to repair the Xbox app. To do this go to your PC settings, select the “Apps” then go to “Installed app” and there look for the Xbox app. Click on the three dots on the right and select “Advanced options” and there you will find the option to repair the app.

I'm playing on PC through gamepass.

The game and the platform are up to date.

I am playing online

I don't have any mods or add-ons

I have reinstalled the game once but not cleared the cache

The only error code I've gotten is 0x800704cB when I first crashed and after that I get no more errors.

However when I try to relaunch the game again I get Error code: (0x87e00029) which won't go away until I restart my PC

Please perform a power cycle on the console by completely shutting down your Xbox by holding the power button for about 10 seconds.

Unplug the power cable for a couple for 2 minutes.

Plug it back in and restart your console before attempting the download again.

And then sign out of your Xbox account and then sign back in. This can reset any licensing or download issues that might be causing the error.

If the game appears to be partially downloaded or stuck in your download queue, cancel the download.

Next is to check for system updates and network issues. Kindly verify that your Xbox system software is fully updated. Also, make sure that your internet connection is stable.

Reinstall the Game

If the issue persist after performing the steps, please uninstall any partial downloads of Black Ops 3 that may be sitting on your Xbox. Once removed, kindly start a fresh download directly from the Xbox Store.
