    error code 0x8027025a

    Hello,

I have experienced issues with getting even basic functions on my xbox 1 to work. I keep getting the error code 0x8027025a with a message about programs taking to long to respond. I should point out this is the first time I have run across this issue with
my xbox 1 or external drive after years of ownership. Even the simplest system functions, like opening settings to check hardware and network status, would not open, even after cold booting. However, when I unplugged the external drive, things seem to work
fine. Is there something that can be done to fix this because I don"t find it reasonable to constantly shuffle games between my internal and external drive just to get my system to function properly.

My external drive: U32 Shadow 2 TB

    Xbox 1 Day 1 500GB edition

    :)

Update. problem has grown progressively worse. Now my xbox has started having issues freezing altogether. Had to do a hard reset for the first time since owning this xbox. Please, any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

With hard reset do you mean a 'Power cycle' like shown on this link: Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before
    powering on again.

Please try it and if doesn't make things better then you may want to consider doing a factory reset (with keeping Games & Apps installed) If your console is connected to Xbox Live, you shouldn't loose save games, since they are synchronized with Xbox Live.
ALso make sure you know the credentials for the account, since you will have to redownload it.

    Let us know the results
