    Hello,

    For the past several hours I have experienced severe issues with getting even basic functions on my xbox 1 to work. I keep getting the error code 0x8027025a with a message about programs taking to long to respond. I should point out this is the first time
    I have run across this issue with my xbox 1 or external drive after years of ownership. Even the simplest system functions, like opening settings to check hardware and network status, would not open, even after cold booting. However, when I unplugged the external
    drive, things seem to work fine. Is there something that can be done to fix this because I cannot find it reasonable to constantly shuffle games between my internal and external drive just to get my system to function properly.

    My external drive: U32 Shadow 2 TB

    Xbox 1 Day 1 500GB edition

    So it's working as long as the External Drive isn't plugged in? That might point to the drive being the issue? That it's causing a short or drawing too much power? I'd recommend checking that drive on another device and see if it works there, or causes
    similar issues?

    Does having other devices plugged into the USB slots cause issues? Other devices in that specific slot? If it's working without one specific device plugged in it points to the console and power supply it self as not being the root cause of the issue.
