    Error code (0x80004005) when trying to play or install PC GamePass games on Win 10


    Error code (0x80004005) on any PC GamePass game i attempt to play or install. Running Windows 10. Everything was working fine 2 days ago, but have not been able to run anything since.

    I have tried:

    1) restarting computer;

    2) uninstalling/reinstalling Xbox app;

    3) repairing and resetting Microsoft Store;

    4) repairing and resetting Xbox app;

    5) installing any and all Windows updates (i am now up to date);

    6) removing and reinstalling Gaming Services;

    7) updating date and time;

    8) signing out and back in to Store and Xbox apps;

    9) checking store and Xbox app are signed in with same account (they are);

    10) using SFC scan and check to repair any corrupted files

    Please help me fix this issue.,

    Oh, I see. I really can feel you here however base on the steps that you tried, this means the issue is on your OS. The last resort is to format your PC. This will make your system good as new however you'll be needing to reinstall everything.

    Hi Dericka,

    Yes, it is with all my games on PC Game Pass. I have an Xbox Series X and have no issues installing/playing games on that device. Occasionally, the error also switches to the Install button on the Xbox app changing into a frowny face. I do have some games still installed from when things were working correctly, and i get the same errors as well for those games. They will go to the launch screen for a moment, then the same error code will pop up.
