    Error code: (0x80004005) when launching starfield on PC


    Everytime I launch starfield, I get a pop-up that says "We couldn't sign you into Xbox Live (0x80004005)" I have done all of the trouble shooting steps, contacted xbox support, microsoft support, and nothing has helped. I just want to play starfield. Has this happened to anyone, if it has, then how did you fix it?

    Error code: (0x80004005) when launching starfield on PC

    I shut my PC down for about 2 hours and while my data didn't sync, I was able to launch the game in offline mode.

    In one of the threads, a user Stone Hardgod mentioned that disabling Quick Resume can fix this issue, you can refer to it.

    However, I have to say that since you only get the problem when running this game, then it is very likely that there is something wrong with the game itself.     0x80004005 cant play games xbox game pass

    I have seen this error code from back with Windows XP and the original Xbox. On the PC the error can come up with extracting zip files, copying files from disk to disk etc.

    According tp MSFT, this code may apply to activation, but this exists in other areas as well. It may be caused by disk error, or folder permissions.
