Had this error message pop after trying to transfer a game from a hard drive (works with my One S fine) to Xbox Series X, couldn't find it in the list of error messages so I wanted to know what causes it since I just had my xbox repaired from some mysterious bug no one I spoke to could trouble shoot. Fixed it by just canceling the install but I'm paranoid since its been about a month since I first bought this thing and I've played it like twice.

Try the solution below, please.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

In case you will have to choose to format your console with your games, as it will be necessary since you cannot move your games to your external device.

This is on the Xbox X.

I am installing on the internal drive.

I checked and there is plenty of space.

I tried to download a different game and it didn’t work either.

I haven’t done the power cycle yet but I can try that next.

What exactly is your Xbox console model?
Are you trying to install the game to your internal drive or external drive?

Make sure to check if you still have enough space for game installation.

To further isolate the issue, try to download a different game if you could download it.

Don't forget to perform a power cycle. Press and hold the Xbox's power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.
