    Hey y'all, I just got a new to me Xbox One S and it works fine when playing Xbox One discs but and I am receiving error code 0x82d40004 when trying to play backwards compatible discs. Specifically Kingdoms of Amalur which is an Xbox One/360 disc and Rage which is a 360 disc. If I hard reset the console the these discs will play with no issues as long as I do not restart or turn off the console. Both discs are very clean with no crazy scuffs or scratches.

    I have done some Googlin' and have tried the following solutions:

    -Adjusted power settings

    -Power cycle

    -Cleared Persistent storage

    -Went offline and just got the message saying I needed to go online

    -Console reset both keeping my data and erasing everything (this is the only one that at worked even if only for that session)

    There's got to be a better solution that hard resetting the console every time I want to play an older title.

    Hey Janet, thank you for the suggestion!! I did the OSU1 update but am still having the same issue. KoA worked right after doing the update so I played a bit then put in my OG Xbox KOTOR disc in. It installed and played with no issues. I rebooted the console and neither games work. Still having issues with the license being read.

    It is quite strange that it only happens with backward compatible games, in this case I would suggest you to send your console to the service center if Microsoft still offers service for your console model.

    There you will see your registered devices, select the device that presents the problem and select "Next", fill in the necessary data and you will be able to create your order.

    You will need a pendrive with at least 8GB of capacity, you will have to format it in your PC with NTFS format.

    Once you have downloaded the file, unzip it and copy the folder

    SystemUpdate folder to the root directory of the external drive (it is important that it is to the root directory and there should not be any other files on the flash drive).

    Connect the USB, enter the troubleshooter and now choose the option to update offline.
