Error 0x80bd003b

I wanted to screen record my new Xbox One X. I just got a Samsung 16 GB USB 3.0. I plugged it into the console. When i navigated to Broadcast & capture in Prefences (in Settings), I set the capture location to 'External'. An error message popped up reading:

'Try a different device

To capture game clips and screenshots externally, storage must be USB 3.0 or faster. This device is too slow. (0x80bd003b)'

My USB is USB 3.0. I tried searching the error code on the website but there were no results. Please help me.

Sounds like you are needing to connect the Flash Drive to a computer and format it to NTFS. It will erase any data on the drive but should allow you to use the drive on your Xbox

ive had exactly same problem mate. samsung 3.0 1tb hard drive. did you find solution?

 

This happened to me too. I just bought me a brand new flash drive 3.0 USB, and now it's giving me this error for some reason. Have you found a fix or solution?

 

Okay, so I don't know if you still have this problem, but I found a fix. So you want to format the flash drive to NTFS, but you want to untick the box that says "Quick format". This allows a longer, deeper formating process to take place. It will take
a while, but it should work.

no. in the end i bought a 2.5" internal sata hard drive. then got a 2.5" usb 3.0 SATA external hard disk enclosure. it sounds more confusing than it is. but worked for me. put red dead 2 on there (which is 107GB) soooo.

 

Nah I get what you mean, but I just wanted to capture my gameplay, and what I did worked for me
