Error 0x803f9008: Unable to Start Game Pass Title on Xbox Series X

I've been encountering the Error 0x803f9008 whenever I try to start a Game Pass title on my Xbox Series X. This issue has been quite frustrating, as it prevents me from accessing any of my games. I've already tried a few standard troubleshooting steps such as restarting the console and checking for system updates, but unfortunately, nothing has worked so far.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue or does anyone have a potential solution? I'm wondering if it's related to my account status or if it's a problem with the Game Pass service itself. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm eager to get back to gaming. Thank you!

I'm sorry you are having problems with playing your games on your Xbox Series X Joyce.

Please could you try to perform this troubleshooting to check if the problem persists?

In your console, Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > DNS Settings >> manual

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

Restart the router.

Check if the problem persists and let me know please.

Same here (Germany, Xbox Series X, Game Pass Ultimate).

I have downloaded the Game Pass iOS app which allows me to select on which Xbox (One X or Series X) I want to install the game on but it fails with "Es ist ein Problem aufgetreten" (An Error occurred).

Spencer said all generations of games will work on the Series S/X and Microsoft Studio games will be released on Game Pass day 1 for both the One and Series S/X. The Medium is not a Microsoft Studios title so the publishers/developers have decided to release
it for the Series S/X.

Unfortunately you will not receive any benefits as the Game Pass was specifically designed for XB1, PC and Series X. Even though 360 Titles are on the Game Pass you wouldn't be able to install them as they have been made to played Backwards Compatible with
the Xbox One and Series X.

But I am not sure if it would transfer your Xbox Live Gold.
