    Error 0x80073cf4, i definitely have enough space but i can't seem to download a game


    Hi, so i recently bought a 1tb storage device for my pc, i've formatted it, selected it as default download location, everything. however, when trying to install sea of thieves, which i have more than enough room for, it will begin downloading, and after maybe 30 seconds, will tell me im running out of storage space. for some reason if i click retry it seems to start from where it left off, but only adds around 100 mb each time which would take far too long considering the game is 92 gb. is there any way i can fix this?

    i just tried the antivirus thing but that didnt work, also no i have 13.1gb free on my C drive

    thanks for responding, the drive is formatted as NTFS, im using windows 10, i have tried downloading one other game and that worked, ive tried xbox app and microsoft store but both have the same problem, ive tried deleting and reinstalling the xbox app, cancelling the download, using an ethernet cable etc.

    sorry im new to this and not great with computers but ill try anything you think will fix this

    That’s unfortunate to know Dylan.

    I can suggest another possible solution, this is trying to reinstall the Microsoft store by following the methods provided in the thread below:

    If the inconvenience persists, try to perform the in-place upgrade, as Lester advised.

    I have just tried both of these, the first one didnt work as i didnt have an option to install gaming services, and the second one didnt work as the link it supplies apparently doesnt exist anymore?
