Error 0x80070780, DirectX Runtime, and File Locations

Hey there, I'll try to keep this brief:

I've received the Xbox games pass for PC and have been trying to download Metro Exodus

It's currently downloaded at 100%, but I can't play it as there's an error, 0x80070780

Another support thread here suggested doing a fresh install of DirectX Runtime and MS Visual C ++ 2015, and while I was able to do so for MS Visual, I cannot find the DirectX file in windows so that it could be deleted and reinstalled.

When I try to download DirectX from windows, it says it's already installed and thus I would have to delete it in order to update/reinstall it, but I can't find the file anywhere.

If in the worst case scenario that I can't play Metro, I would at least like to delete the more than 50GB game from my hardrive, as it's already taking up space due to the initial download. However I'm not sure where the files are located and can't
find an uninstall option in the games pass program itself.

If anyone could provide support on these issues it would be Greatly appreciated--thank you!

Today the game seems to have gotten an update of some sort making it playable, so if you're having problems similar to mine then try to 'download' it one more time.

Hi Charles,

Thanks for coming to the forums. Unfortunately, at this time there are known issues with this game for some reason. Many have had issues downloading. We recommend to just wait it out and see if it is fixed.

Downloaded it 3 times now still Error.

I hope it gets fixed soon wanted to play next week in my holidays...

Thanks for your reply.

The error message seems to include some old things that we can't get information about this.

But it seems that is a DirectX problem.

Maybe you can try to download the DX runtime installation to fix this problem.

Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from Official Microsoft Download Center

( make a folder to store the extra file)
