"Episode Metal" won't appear on Sonic 4 Episode 2 on the Xbox One

I have both Sonic 4 Episodes 1 and 2, and unlocked "Episode Metal" on the Xbox 360 in the past. They were not uploaded to the Cloud.

I cannot get it to unlock in Sonic 4: Episode 2, despite me clearing Sonic 4: Episode 1 100%, and beating all of the regular stages in Episode 2 (although you need to only beat the first level in Episode 2 to unlock it).

If this is an issue with how the Xbox One reads save data from Xbox 360 games, and prevents other titles from accessing it, or is it just a bug affecting only my console?

They still havent even put out episode 2? didnt sonic four episode 1 come out like two years ago? sheesh. how hard is it to make an old school sidescroller?

Aw shucks! Are you signed up to Xbox Rewards? That sometimes helps me when I do not have the funds to grab deals or have a little bit less than the actual cost of something.

I might grab Sonic Ep 2 come to think of it, I bought the first episode on my Windows Phone when it was on sale. It is quite pricey on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace though, I might have to wait a while for a deal to appear.

 

You need to make sure your save files from both games are uploaded to the cloud. That's what XB1 uses to check if there's any save files for any BC titles etc.

Works just fine on my end.

 

That is what I did. Saving to the Cloud was the only option when selecting saving storage location.

Episode Metal never showed up.
