    Hi

    Hope you are all keeping safe an well

    I have purchased / downloaded Minecraft Java edition PC windows 10 for my child (<13Yrs) who has a MS personal account on which I have given consent and is part of family group.

    Java edition bought on their profile.

    However, Multiplayer is disabled and says I need to give consent which I already have on the MS profile. Have asked both Minecraft and Mojang support who says to ask Microsoft!

    Can anyone help me understand how to get the multiplayer working.

    NOT XBOX

    Hello @muglebbub! I hope that you are doing well today!

    To enable the multiplier on a child account, here's what to do:

    1. Log in to Xbox settings with the parent Microsoft account.
    2. Select the child account's profile.
    3. Select Xbox One/Windows 10 Online and choose Allow for Join multiplayer games AND You can create and join clubs.
    4. To enable chat for people not on the person's friends list, they will need to go to their privacy settings and enable Others can communicate .

    You don't need an Xbox. You just need to enable the multiplayer on your Microsoft account. Here's what to do:

    1. Open your web browser and navigate to the official Xbox website. Sign in using your credentials.
    2. Now, click on the tab of Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety. Make sure that the option of You can join multiplayer games is Allowed.

    This is not an Xbox install it is a PC Windows 10 edition.

    The 'family' of which the child is a member does not have an Xbox account.
