    "Enable Mods" option missing after Xbox app update


    I've been playing Conan Exiles on GamePass with a couple of friends for the past 2 months. Everything was going great until I needed to reinstall Conan (because apparently that's the only way to install an update - the server automatically picked up the update, but nothing showed up in the Store for the Conan game).

    It looks like I got an Xbox app update a few days ago, and the "Enable Mods" option is no longer there. The game also installs by default under C:\XboxGames instead of C:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps.

    Tried workarounds such as taking ownership of the game folder but nothing worked.

    Is there a way to downgrade to the older version of the Xbox app, or any other workaround to enable mods in a game?

    Already tried uninstalling / resetting / reinstalling the Xbox app and the Gaming services; also tried joining then leaving the Insiders hoping that a newer version of the app has a fix (it doesn't).

    Well a couple of months ago I played skyrim and fallout 4 on gamepass and I could mod them including script extender. The games got put in Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps after I enabled modding for them, the directory is STILL on my pc as proof

    And the games showed they could be modded in the description.

    After the last update to Gamepass app that has all gone. The option is no longer there!

    I know what I did and saw, there is no longer the ability to mod! You need to check your facts

    I was the same, I played modded Stardew Valley. Loaded it up today and the modded worlds crashed the game as it turns out it no longer loads the mods.

    I havent changed anything to the files.

    It really does feel like a step backwards because before I only had to press the enable mods option, but that no longer exists and I can no longer load up the game with mods. Very very annoying

    Before we were able to enable mods in games (FM22 f.e)

    Now i installed that on new pc and i cannot find that option.

    On old one, after updates i cannot find that option, but i have my old mods on.

    And we are talking about PC, not xbox.

    Yes you are right, that is where the enable mod option is if the game allows for mods. It looks like the mod option isn't available at the moment as previous mod enabled games no longer have that option. Also note child accounts will not see the mod option.

    Hello Thank you for your reply. According to the Xbox website, the game Ark allows mods, however there is no option for mods on either my xbox or Xbox app version of the game. Am i missing something else?
