    Enable Cortana popup interrupts us when watching a movie.


    Last week me and me wife where watching a movie on Netflix and I get this popup asking us if we want to enable Cortana dictation. It was not the best experience and I thought that my Xbox is looking more like windows (not in the good way).

    Could we have some checks so we don't interrupt our users experiences with this? maybe show it only on the startup of the console, or when they are on the main screen.

    How does xbox one notify when people send friend requests?

    I hope there is a way to turn it off if they do add it. Last thing I want to do is be interrupted when watching Netflix or YT or even TV and have popups all the time with people signing on and off.

    The new message indicator is bad enough.

    All I do is say "Xbox snap activity" when I want to see who is online. I would rather do it
    when I want than be bothered with popups all the time.

    How do I turn off the Cortana popup messages?

    Hey there Ravenclawln4ks,

    To use normal "Xbox" commands on the Xbox Console you'll just need to disable Cortana. That should remove any Cortana popup messages on the console as well, here's the steps to do that. How to

    Thanks for coming to the forums. Cortana was disable quite a while ago. It does explain how to enable Alexa for voice commands when you go to the Cortana settings.
    "Cortana is no longer supported on Xbox one. To continue using voice commands, enable digital assistants in settings and try the Xbox skill for Alexa, or use Xbox voice commands with Kinect sensor."

    well before today i never had a subscription to Netflix and i was able to watch movies and shows just fine with no interruptions
