Email regarding Grab bag prize from xbox live rewards

Hello. I received a email from xbox live rewards saying I can grab a free grab bag with prizes in it on the 15th of december (today) Before today if I clicked count me in it said to wait until the 15th but now I click it and it loads the normal rewards.xbox.com
website with nothing on there about this Anniversary. What is up with this? Was it closed? Are the prizes already gone? If so that is pretty *** seeing as the website wasnt working for the past 3 hours. If these promotions only last 5 minutes I would rather
not receive these emails. Good to see another load of crap from anything with the words Xbox live in it.

Did you get your freebies from Xbox Live Rewards 5yr celebration?

well the cash was random. but they sent out an email about the grab bag over the weekend, saying today was the grab bag. it was first come first serve. they had special edition controllers, statues, games, avatar items, the first 6 star wars movie bundle, jurassic world, etc.

what's been inconsistent about it? what holes? i've never had any issues with it.

Edit: I understand it's free but besides NONE of my purchases ever counting for the rewards program and then getting emails of cool stuff linking to nothing is pretty frustrating
