Email on gamertag

Hi Lion,

In order to change out the primary email for a gamertag to another one, the gamertag has to be removed. If there is a gamertag attached to the email, then it will only allow the new email to be connected to the gamertag as a secondary email instead of a
primary email.

Basically, it is going to be like musical chairs. Move each of the gamertags to another email to free the email. Create an account that will not be used on a daily basis. Move the gamertag from the email that is going to be used. Then it will free up the
email to use with the main gamertag.

Then you have two gamertags. The familiar gamertag uses an email address you have forgotten. The unfamilar gamertag uses an email address likely almost identical to the original email.

This is possible, but there will be extra steps involved since both emails have a gamertag attached to them already. In order to have your gamertag1 attached to your email2, you will need to disassociate email2 from gamertag2. You will need to log into Gamertag2
at account.microsoft.com.

After that, add an email to this account, following this link :
How to change the email address associated with your Microsoft account. The email you add will need to
not be associated to any other Microsoft account. This email will take the place of Email2. After you have added the new email, and made it the primary email to Gamertag2, you can remove Email 2 from this account completely.

And we are almost done! Now you can log back into
account.microsoft.com with the credentials from Gamertag1. Add email2 to this account and make it the primary.

If you have access to the gamertag on your Xbox 360 console, please go to your Dashboard > Settings > Account > 3rd Tab (Account Information) > Account Security > Look to the right, and you'll see the e-mail you should be using to sign into Xbox.com to get
your gamertag to show up.

If you don't have the means to do that then I would suggest that you Chat with Microsoft Support or Request a Call. You can do either option by going to this page here and clicking
on Billing and Memberships, under Microsoft Account click Forgot Microsoft Account Username. You'll need to be able to provide the agent with the information on the account before they are able to give you the e-mail associated with the account. If you're
not able to provide them with the information they are asking then they will not be able to assist you with your inquiry.
