Email linked to Instagram us gamertag

If someone else is already using the email address you want for a gamertag, then you cannot re-use the email unless the other person changes their email linked to their gamertag. If you make a new email address, then you can link it to a gamertag you want
if it's available.

You have to use the email address associated with the Gamertag. If you put in an email address and a different Gamertag comes up, it may not be the email linked to the Gamertag that you were using. You may have used another when creating that initial account.

sign in with the email and password you used previously. your gamertag is linked to your email.

you must recover it using the email address and password that were linked to that specific gamertag, if multiple gamertags are linked to a single email (Example: through a family account), it will ask you which profile to recover.
