Email account deleted for child xbox account - will this be a problem later?

If you have no access to the main email account it will cause you issues.

I understand what you are describing.

I agree that it would be better to create a new email address now and setup a new profile.

Because the old address is no longer available, anything you try to do will be an issue because you do not have access to the old address.

Thanks for the response, Rob. My own email account is also tied to his xbox account as a secondary - is there any way to add additional email addresses to his xbox account since i'm able to receive password resets through my email? Does that afford me any other access to his xbox account that I'm overlooking that will let us keep going with his current gamertag?

You can not change an adult account to a child account. Deleting the accounts will lose all data and purchases. If you have a Microsoft email (@live.com @hotmail.com @outlook.com) you can not change email as this will delete the account completely.
