Elite Waste

Never again.

I'm that Xbox guy that stood in line for the original & has upgraded along the way. I decided to spend extra money & invest in an Xbox One Elite controller. My reasoning was because my original Halo 5 controller started having stick drift, so I thought,
"why not invest in a high quality controller so i dont have to keep replacing controllers?"

Well, I should have just bought the $60 controller. Shortly after purchase, the grips started coming off. I tried gluing, but put a skin on instead. Then my right bumper started sticking. This I can't live with.

I contacted Support, who was helpful, but since my controller is out of warranty, they could not help. They DID however recommemd trying the Microsoft Store.

I contacted the Store in Atlanta, 2 hours away, and explained my issue with the controller. They said they could look at it for repair and set up an appointment for me.

I took the trip and the rep at the store informed me they usually just replace the unit, but since mine was out of warranty, they couldn't help me. I would not have made that trip had they told me this on the phone!

I understand that it's out of warranty, but the grips are defective and are obviously a quality issue. I just think if you spend $150 on a product that it will last longer than the $60 version.

I'm just disappointed and wanted to vent.

dont bother with elite, dont waste your money..all that money to get just 2 new maps a little bit sooner..at least people without elite have the chance not to waste their money on cr**p maps

Thanks again for the link, but after I fill out the info the only option I have is buy the removable parts - no repair options.

 

Interesting. Why they mentioned "repair" in your second call, then in the meeting they eventually just said "replace" but did not offer "repair" service??? That really worth to be furious...........

 

Yeah it's why I'm upset with the whole situation. I explained why I was calling and setting up an appt. Just be up front & say we dont do repairs, and we can't replace items that far out of warranty. A few qualifying questions would have helped. I just
felt like they didn't care when I was done. But hey, they did offer me free juice or water. Smh.

If I would have known this I wouldn't have made the trip.
